Junior Provincial Indoor Tournament U12 - January 15,
2006
Congratulations to Tracy Dong (Surrey) for winning the girls' final and to Riaan du Toit
(Abbotsford) for winning the boys' 12 final.
West Vancouver Tennis Club hosted the Junior
Tournament U12, January 13-15, with 27 entries in the boys' event and 16 in the girls'
event, and attracting most of BC's top junior players. Tournament referee Sharyn Gollis,
fourth photo on the left, and club pro Chris Stead
made sure that the tournament was a great success.
Todd Fought (West Vancouver), top photo on the left, challenged Riaan but lost in a close
three-set match. Madeline Benn (West Vancouver), third photo, was the girls' event runner
up.
Du Toit and Dong, second photo, are the proud fathers of Riaan and Tracy respectively.
Andre du Toit coaches his son, working out of the Great West Fitness and Racquets Club. Andre also has a
daughter, Trudie, who is the
top-ranked Junior Girl 16 in BC.
